JEROME LANCASHIRE: Handwriting & Spelling, Age 11, Aspergers.
"Teresa helped me to pass my SATS and now I start at Manchester Academy soon.  My spelling has gotten much better and I can add, subract, multiple and divide numbers.  In September I start at secondary school and have already started amateur boxing to help me to stay calm and concentrate.  I like Teresa being my tutor because she makes me laugh and helps me understand things I find hard."
CATHERINE MATTHESON: BTEC National Diploma in Applied Science, Age 33. Mother.
"Teresa was my personal tutor and biology lecturer on this course and she helped me to push through a course that felt like an uphill struggle but which gained me not only a merit in this certificate but also Level 2 literacy and numeracy.  Teresa helped me to understand where my strengths lied and despite not going into science, I'm happy with what I have learnt on the course and about myself.  In September I start a course in interior design.and about myself.
ABBIE JANE FIELDING: BTEC National Diploma in Medical Science, Age 18

“I felt like Teresa got me and understood where I was coming from with my learning unlike the other teachers.  She really cares about your education and wants you to do well in the way that suits you.  It was Teresa who first suggested I may have ADHD and 6 months later I was tested for this through the college and I am developing learning strategies to overcome my learning problems caused by this.  Teresa really is a great teacher."

FABRICE HAPPY: Access Diploma in Nursing & Allied Health Professions, Age 24

"Teresa is a brilliant teacher who teaches with passion and really wants you to do well.  She provides you with clear instructions and is always able to answer questions put to her.  I completed my course with her help and also got a place at university through the UCAS process that Teresa guided me through, giving me a positive reference mirroring my academic success on the course.  She was always ready to listen and made the classes really enjoyable."

CHEANO DINERO: BTEC First Diploma (Level 2) in Applied Science, Age 24

"I am thankful to you for ever. I did not know anyone in this country and going to college was a big opportunity for me.  Despite my difficulties with my family abroad and disruption to my course, you believed in me and helped me through my level 2.  You helped me a lot on my BTEC course so that I could understand all the new words and make sense of my new knowledge.  From that course I got to where I am now, on my way to university.  You are a wonderful and most talented teacher. Thankyou a lot."

CHRISTINE FRASER-THOMPSON: undertaking an Access to Nursing Diploma

"After not having studied for a long time i decided that i needed to go back into education and a career change. I needed to undertake an access to nursing that lasted a year. Teresa was my academic advisor as well as my health and social sciences lecturer and instructor. I did not think I would be able to keep up and i dreaded the assignments and the exams, also being a mum of 3 young kids it meant I had a task on my hands and I knew if I managed the course i would be better prepared for university. Teresa's teaching was clear to the point and despite my fears really easy to follow. She offered advice on how to study in my own way and provided check points all the way through the course so i never felt left behind . I am now entering my second year of my degree in nursing and have found it challenging at times but using all the skills i picked up from Teresa I have coped really well."
